A diversity champion with over 23 years of Diversity and EEO experience, John currently serves as the Chief Employee Engagement Educator with the Department of Veterans Affairs. He is formerly with Johns Hopkins Hospital as their Director of Workforce Diversity, SPX Corporation as their Corporate EEO and Diversity Manager and the US Office of Personnel Management as and EEO Specialist. His professional background includes work pertaining to Diversity and Inclusion, Cultural Competency, Disability Awareness and Equal Employment Opportunity training through the military, corporate, Federal, and nonprofit arenas. He is a U.S. Army Major, Retired, and was a U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant for six years during the Vietnam-Era with over 22 combined years of active duty military having garnered numerous military awards including the Department of Defense Meritorious Service and Outstanding Volunteer Service medals. He graduated from the Department of Defense Equal Opportunity Adviser course in March 1998 and then assumed his role as an Equal Opportunity senior adviser, platform instructor, small group facilitator, and curriculum designer for the Department of Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) for over four years. Dr. Fuller is a recipient of the prestigious Johns Hopkins Institutions’ Martin Luther King Community Service Award in recognition for his extensive community service contributions and involvement. He has most recently completed the Fellows program with Partnership for Public Service. He is also the recipient of the Department of Veterans’ Affairs ICARE award for LGBT advocacy.
